It came, took place and moved on to Rio. We were indifferent before it started, more and more exited while it lasted and saddened to see all pink signs being removed. Olympics grasped everyone's attention and allowed even the grumpiest ones to smile.
Having not tried to acquire any tickets in advance, we (of course) ended up continuesly refreshing london2012.com in hope to see 'you have 5min to buy these tickets'. No luck until Paralympics, and even then, it was either we take closing ceremony or we do not get anything at all. We went for it and had not regretted. The size of the stadium, the atmosphere, the concert - the biggest wow factor so far. It all how we saw is here and I still can not wipe that smile each time we look through the album.
